Anyone have one of these?

Do you like it? I find it a pain to fill the water tank. What am I missing?

One of the advantages of NOT having a 'sealed' bottom... ๐Ÿ˜‰

I can actually SEE the water level in my FWT by just sticking my head under the trailer and looking.

I can also tell by the sound of the water going into the filler when it's getting close.. The "gurgling" sound gets closer together as it fills is the best I can describe it..

Good luck!

using the pump even if your sucking it from a bucket or jug it still being under pressure to get it to the tank mine is the same way i wish it had the gravity fill spout would make it a whole lot easier to refill the tank from a jug when boondocking 20 miles off the beaten path as it is now i have made up a second pump that i use to refill my tank with

Does the hose fitting inlet actually "require" pressure to get through a valve or something? If not, make a sort section of hose; male fitting on one end to attach to the fill station, the other end with either a funnel or a fitting to fit your jug. Walah, Gravity feed!

yes it does have to over come the spring loaded check valve in the hose inlet fitting and even if you could use a funnel it would take forever to fill the tank trying to get the water to flow down the 1/2 pex line to the tank

Fresh water tank should have an overflow in addition to vent.

I fill mine until water runs out overflow OR GF watching gauge YELLS at me.

As for the 'only fill from pressure source'.......not true.

You can connect a hose to fitting, place other end in a bucket/bottle filled with water, flip switch to Sanitize/Winterize Position, turn on-board pump ON and fill fresh water tank using pump

Just because water comes out the vent doesn't always mean the tank is full. Every RV I've owned (4 now) act the same in that they burp and spit like an infant after a bottle. The best thing I've found is to just put the water in at a moderate pace as opposed to full throttle on the hose. Also, if you have the patience, holding the hose a couple inches outside of the opening can help in that it allows more air to escape as the water goes in. From my experience and others I've talked to, filling the fresh water storage tanks is just kind of a pain and you will often get some spillage.

I have had spouts on many of my fresh tanks that tell when they are full. I just run and shut off the flow and the expanded tank spouts out until it equalizes. Sometimes I run a gallon or two down the drains to put some into the grey and black for slosh.

I have had DW watch the fill gauge too, and timed it after it gets to the third light out of four, but never had a problem filling to spout out.

I have had one rig that only filled from a pressure source too.. A mistake in design, but never caused a problem, not once.

Please explain, what causes the problem? One is a pressurized fill from a hose connected, the other is gravity feed into the tank.
