What's the market like for used TT's right now?

Is it more of a buyers market or a sellers market?

It's not about what you, the owner thinks it's worth. It's only worth what someone else will pay for it. If it is in great shape and everything works, it will sell quicker at the right price. If you want to sell it, price it to sell.

I would have to agree with the above post , 11 grand for a 16 year old trailer , great if you get it , I doubt it will happen. I just bought a 2006 29ft sunnybrook BH with slide for under 9K .

I just sold it today for $9,500.

It is a great looking trailer and well kept, but it's old and somewhat dated. I would say 6k would be a high price to shoot for. I like it a lot actually.

Most common mistake many make is pricing their rig (and homes) well above what the market dictates. They may be upside down on their loan, or feel their rig is special and/or has many mods/upgrades, no doubt these overpriced units stay on the market much longer. Research your particular brand, model, and year on the internet to get a range of what is available across the country. I copied and pasted 1995 Holiday Rambler Aluma-Lite Custom 32' and found this Aluma-Lite, there were others that popped up as well. I understand the feeling as I like to believe my rig is special with all the mods and upgrades I've done to it, but I would never believe someone will someday pay top dollar for extras that may or may not mean anything to them. Many will eventually just trade in their units as the dealer will make it appear they got a good price for their old rig, and we know dealers always make money no matter how the deal was made. There is certainly more demand this time of year, I sincerely hope it sells at your desired price.

That's why I posted the link to PPL motorhomes above. They are showing what similiar units actually sold for.

PPL is a DEALER.

YOU however would be a PRIVATE PARTY.

DEALERS tend to sell for HIGHER PRICES than a PRIVATE PARTY.

That is the reason why people often look for items from a PRIVATE PARTY (they often can or will find what they are looking for at 20% or even 30% LESS than a DEALER).

YOU have a 16 yr old 31 ft trailer, it is USED no matter how well it has been kept or how many mods (or how much money) you put into it it is STILL 16yrs old. Even 16yr old Airstreams can be had for well under $10K and they have quite the following.

I suggest pricing it accordingly.

For a 16yr old trailer I would be pricing it close to $4K-$5K and that would be the top of the mark.

Heck I sold a 1981 20ft TT at the ripe old age 25 yrs for only $1800. I bought it for that same price and put another $1800 into it fixing it up. Used it for 6yrs until I bought my current 1983 26ft one for $700.

The 31ft length may even be a bit of a turn off to many buyers. I had one heck of a time finding a buyer for my 20ft TT that actually had something more substantial than a small SUV to pull it (trailer weighed in at 4000 lbs empty).

I think that by posting a link to your ad you're sorta crossing the line between asking advice and trying to advertise your rig here, which is against forum rules...

I had a feeling this would happen, I pulled the link and you guys can no longer see it.

Mine is a 1995 Holiday Rambler Aluma-Lite Custom 32'. I have dumped a lot of money into mine and it shows.

I found a comparable 1997 Aluma-lite that sold for $9,295 in 7/2011 and a 1994 Aluma-lite that sold for $8495 in 10/2012.

I am asking $11,00 OBO for mine. Do you guys think I'm too high?

Here is a link to the add, tell me what you think. One of the things I look at is what if I wanted to buy the same unit. What should I expect to pay for this same unit?

The economy is still in the toilet, I'm sure there are alot more sellers than buyers out there, especially buyers who are looking to pay anywhere near "used retail". If your buying, buy low or walk, there are plenty of people out there looking to unload at a discount price.

Depends on area. Here in Texas, there is year-round demand for TTs. Spring to fall, they are great for camping. Fall to spring, they are used for hunting. There is oil work, so people want them for that.

The trick is finding the right price, because a lot of of rigs are priced high due to the owner being upside-down, and those rigs won't sell, period.
