Let me guess, when the left does it is for humanitarian reasons, but when the right does it then it is for oil. Just like when Clinton ordered the military to attack Iraq in November of 1998 for reasons of weapons of mass destruction and not one person cried foul. Yet when Bush did the same for the exact same reason less than 5 years later he was a liar that was doing it for oil. Sounds legit.

So EV's and really any autos impact on road degradation is minimal.
The exception being maybe a local road in a housing subdivision that wasn't designed to carry massive weights to begin with.
That is why you will see posted weight limits on local roads.

Just about everything you use in life comes by truck. How do you propose to pay for roads once everyone is using EV's and no longer paying fuel taxes? Right now EV's owners are getting a free ride. That can't continue forever.

Would have to check into that bridge law thing. A normal tractor/semi-trailer is only allowed 46,000 on the front 3. (34 on drives, 12 on steer) And it only takes 13 feet between the first and last axle of the tractor to bridge that 46. That 13 feet would be a real short tractor. Normally when you have problems with bridge law is short trailer or permit loads. To gross 80 on 5 axles you need 51 feet first to last. Most freight boxes are 53 overall

Just saying the government spends tons of money in areas I don't like either. If that spending were to stop there would be no reduction in taxes.

Same for the EV credit. Taxes will not change if/when the tax credit is stopped or it expires.

Any time the government wants to eliminate the second home interest deduction that is OK too. Actually first home deduction can go too.
