Good morning everyone. Yesterday I went out to start the lawn mower and for the first time in eight years it failed to crank. It looked as if something fell on the ignition switch and damaged it. The key was bent down sideways and when I turned it nothing happened. The battery is good so I guess something fell on it when Sue was moving her boxes around looking for some items she had in stock that she had a buyer for. Anyway she told me that is most likely what happened. So I called a friend who does yard work and asked him to come over and take care of the lawn until I can repair it.
It was hot yesterday, in the nineties for the first time this year. Today will be a repeat with a high of ninety-three. We went from winter to summer and skipped spring. The house next door is coming along. Yesterday they finished putting the roof on. All the walls are up and now for the plumbing and electrical work to be done and then the dry wall. Steve says he and his wife want to buy a camper and start enjoying traveling. He has never owned a camper so he is looking for me to help guide him in his new adventure.
Dixie is acting strange toward new people she comes in contact with. She met one of our neighbors while out on a walk and Dixie didn't like her at all. She was walking with a long cane stick and that may have been the problem thinking she was a threat to Sue, anyway it was all Sue could do to hold Dixie back from attacking her. This is totally unlike the sweet loveable little girl we have come to grow very fond of.
Suzie is doing well, I guess. Her paws are still cool to the touch. I wonder if there is a circulation problem in her legs and paws? I noticed she wants to be on the couch snuggled in with her back to the cushion and curled up with her paws under her as much as possible. She loves to go for walks and she is active when she wants to play, but something is just off with her. Maybe she is just getting old like the rest of us. I stayed cold this winter, with my feet and legs just frozen. Sue likes to keep the house at seventy-one degrees and I can't stand that. As long as I had fire wood for the fireplace I stayed warm, but when we ran out in February and winter held on into April the house was cold. Sometimes I went out to the camper and turned on the heat just to get warm.
Now it seems we are going to have summer, Great! let the sun shine keep us warm while we dream of open roads waiting for adventure.
Glad to see folks posting pictures of their fur babies on the thread. Its makes it much nicer to see all of our friends with their families and being able to put faces to names.
Okay I need to get moving so I will close for now wishing everyone a blessed day. Be sure to give the fur babies a hug for me and be sure to tell someone you love them.
