If you go the Chief Joseph to the Beartooth to Red Lodge, Red Lodge makes a nice stop for a break to walk around and maybe get something to eat before heading back to Cody. In addition to the Buffalo Bill Museums, Cody has Old Trail Town and the nightly rodeo. On the way to Casper, Thermopolis is worth a stop to visit the hotsprings and bath house, Dinosaur Museum and Legend Rock Petroglyph Site.
...IF you want to do BT and CJ, stop in Cody and make it a day trip from there, not FB. You can easily do Cody>Red Lodge>back down Chief Joe to Cody in about 7 hours and se ethe best of both highways. 🙂 🙂

Off topic, but anybody passing through Cody really should stop by the Buffalo Bill Historical Center . You could easily spend a good part of the day there - - if not longer.
