dump stations/taking on water in Gaspe', PEI during OCTOBER

We are doing our homework and checking temps for the month of October to do a nice little trip from NY to gaspe' to shediac to PEI and southern NB (if we don't run into weather that is too cold with no where to dump/take on water).

For us it looks doable but any ideas what our options are for dumping (once per week) and taking on water? I am thinking campgrounds won't be open but haven't checked yet. MOSTLY boondocking...so I just need the weekly dump/water thing.

I know it could be pretty cold and I like cold and will be prepared for it. I am thinking things could be closed for the season...

PEI Dumping

This site shows 3 or 4 places open "thru" October, and one Truck wash with a dump open all year.
You could contact those places to get accurate info.

This site shows the "IRVING" fuel stations that have dumps:

It shows none in PEI, but there are some in N.B. close by and also Nova Scotia. Check "sewer" on their search options.

Jack's Truck wash in Cornwall just opened this spring. Nice to know they have a dump station. Didn't know the Esso in Summerside had a dump station. Again, I would call to confirm.

You better call ahead for a campground to confirm you can access their dump station since after Thanksgiving they will be "officially" closed.

I did notice there are some campgrounds on that site that are not even on PEI.

I don't know of any commercial dump stations on PEI. That time of year there will not be any campgrounds open. The vast majority shut down by the end of September. All are closed after Thanksgiving (Oct 13).

You better come with your waste tanks empty and perhaps your water tank full.

I still say, ask and you will find a place that says yes. & that for me includes experience on PEI in the off season.

If you check my photo album you will find shots of MacPhail and Orwell backside from November.

On exit from Quebec to Campbellton NB you can dump at the Provincial Park there or at the town wharf RV parking section, they have a dumpsite, its on your way to Shediac from the Gaspe...

Campbellton is very RV friendly. Good grocery stores etc...

At the town wharf you can park for free.

Look for the ''BIG STOP'', Irving service stations - truck stops. Most have free dump stations and water

Never been in that area with the camper, but in eastern Ontario, there is an Irving gas station/truck stop with an RV dump station (free). With water I think. There are Irving stations all over the atlantic provinces...
Or you could check with the City sewage treatment plants. In Ottawa, RVers can dump for free...

You may find cgs open if people are using rvs as a way to take a job away from normal home range.

I found that to be the case in October, 2004. Fredericton was the city where such occurred.

But one of the best places to check is the municipality. Say you want to dump off season and the "information" place with such is closed, check with the water/water safety plant. Chances are they have a place for secure/healthy dumping.

There are boondocking places around and about outside of towns.
