Flying J / RV Lanes

I'm finally healthy enough to get back on the road and I'm planning a family Road Trip to the Black Hills/ Rocky Mountain National Park this summer. My Son will be traveling with me in his brand new 30' Jayco Travel Trailer. He is a newbie when it comes to towing and I'm trying to plan fuel stops at Flying J's so he can easily negotiate the RV Fuel lanes. I note that the Flying J individual websites ( several that I have researched) do not mention RV Lanes and I wonder if they may have done away with them or I have unfortunately just run across a few that don't have RV Lanes ??? OR....did some of the Pilot take on the Flying J name....???

Even if they are higher, if they have an easy in/out where you don’t clog up the parking lot, it’s worth an extra few bucks.

Great of you to do that, but to be honest, better to get him acquainted with stopping and judging by himself. On longer trips, a traffic jam, or detour, can make fueling harder. Get him to look for the station he will fit under, put the height of the camper on the windshield or sun visor, and school him on taking spots he can get on and out of. Otherwise, you can be setting him up to fail on if conditions are less then ideal.

You might want to check that... most bank and credit cash back cards exclude truck stops from the rewards program.

I just completed a trip through 3 states. The Pilot/Flying Js I stopped at or passed were the same and a few were cheaper as any other in the same area.

For gas they are competitive, diesel not so much.

Thirty feet of TT isn’t too bad, Dad. All your son needs to do is take it slow and he’ll learn like we did. Don’t worry and have fun.

My experience is that the website does not usually list the RV lanes. The app does show them because I setup my user profile as RV.

Not all Pilot/Flying J travel centers have RV lanes - but a number of them still do. I assume he's towing with a gasser and can't go to the truck lanes out back?
