Need to get from Columbia River Gorge, OR on I-84 to Fort Steven's State Park. Best time to travel to bypass 205 to I-5 North and then to 432 to cross back into OR to Astoria. Anyone take this route?

Well, took 205 to 5 to Longview, then 432 to 433 to 30 and went through Astoria and Warrenton and got to Fort Stevens State Park all in one piece . Good route, interestates easy, congested area in Astoria, but park is great!

Depending on traffic you will save 30 to 60 mins by heading north on 205, hitting I5 to Longview and then crossing back into Oregon.

Merge onto I-5 N, go about a mile to 302 B *405S - follow signs to St Helens (the city, not the mountain). Once on the bridge, get over into the right lane and take exit 3 to 30W (more St Helens signs). Get into the middle lane after exit so you aren't funneled off the first exit - I think it's Vaughn, you don't want that exit. Stay on the exit ramp and it becomes highway 30 W and goes all the way to Astoria and 101 (and through the nice town of St Helens). When you get to Astoria you just continue through town and merge with 101 as it crossed the Young Bay bridge - follow the brown signs to Ft Stevens, it will be a right turn off 101 just past the strip mall on the other side of the Young Bay Bridge.

If you can tell me the exit number off of I-5 to take to go across the Fremont Bridge, that would help, I'm thinking it is 3, but not sure. Could you help me out here a little more? Thanks

I travel through there every couple of days, the traffic is negligible after 9am and before 4pm. 84 to I5N, over Fremont bridge and take St Helens exit through nw Portland, any traffic through here will be much less than i5 N to Longview which is almost an hour. NW Portland straight shot to Astoria, save time and a nice drive.

I-84 west and take I-205 north across Columbia and go up to Longview to WA 432 70 WA 433. Cross the Columbia and pick up US 30.
Best time would be between 10AM and 2PM.
It is a pretty good route. I would watch for the truck route signs and follow them. Less traffic signals.
