On the way out, if you've already done the US 50 through NV and UT, consider taking NV 722 into Austin instead of US 50. Might be 15 minutes longer but a prettier route going through the Desatoya Mountains instead of out in the flats. Also, instead of US 50 across UT, consider turning south at Baker and taking UT 21 to I-15 then north to I-70. Just a little different route. Spend a little time investigating the mining ruins around Frisco, UT if you want a break from the drive.
For the return, have you done the more southerly route? West from Cedar City on UT 56 to NV 319 then south on US 93 to NV 375 to US 6, etc. Kind of way out there. Cathedral Gorge SP is just north of Panaca. NV 375 is also known as the Extraterrestrial Highway (kind of near Area 51). In Rachel, you'll pass the Little A'Le'Inn. All sorts of ET type souvenirs.
The route up US 6 is heavily travelled. I've never done the UT 10/31 route but it does look interesting. The downside of both of these is ending up on I-80 across NV. Maybe is just after driving it 100 times, I'm tired of it. Heck, one time we even headed south out of Dugway past Fish Springs NWR, through Callao, then south Gandy on down to US 50 near the UT/NV border. Long ways and lots of dirt roads.
