I have to hand it to you all, you are hearty and brave souls. Either that, or very naive and foolish. Going down to Mexico? No. Taking my motorhome? No. And I was born and raised in Guadalajara, so I know first hand, the situation, which has never been as bad as it is today. Nonetheless, I envy you, for you are an adventureous bunch, especially you Canadians. I am just no brave enough to venture into the same territory from which I escaped. Just my thoughts...no offense...
I guess we each have our reasons for escaping. I escaped from the U.S. and have been here forever. Couldn't imagine ever going back knowing how bad it is today. I admire you for staying away from Mexico so long. That takes courage. The state of Jalisco is one of my favorite boondocking places in Mexico.
Agreed----thumbs up!
All my Mexican friends (and its a bunch) who thought they were doing the right thing by going to the U.S. now regret it and wish they could come back. They can't. Their kids were born in the U.S. so they are stuck.

I have worked off and on in El Paso over the last few years and when I rent a car there is a big sign announcing rentals to Mexico. I asked the person at the counter and she said people rent all the time to go to Mexico.
Do they still require a letter from the rental agency allowing use in Mexico?
