We rarely go into the USA anymore. We did Peñasco to Ensenada via the coastal Highway to San Luis, then Hwy 2 across to the Tecate exit, Route3 through the Valle de Guadalupe Wine country (awesome)from Ensenada south there really is only one way to go! Going to make the trip again in February! Can't wait!

We have made several car trips ( from our base camp )down south. We have taken the 'off the beaten path' roads and visited Sta. Rosalillita,
Bahia Los Angeles,Bahia Tortuga, Bahia Asuncion, Punta Abreojos, San Ignacio and Mulege.
For the most part I think the people of Baja are more laid back and easy going than people we met on mainland Mexico.
Two of the trips were with another couple, they in a pickup, us in our Tracker. We ate most of our meals outside, stayed in basic motels, and played bocci ball alongside the road. We had a great time and never felt threatened by any 'bad guys'.

We were in Loreto two years ago for a week. We rented a condo with family from the U.S. They loved it. The water was fantastic including the kayaking and side trips to Mulege. We flew to La Paz and took the bus up to Loreto. Can't wait until we can do all of the Baja by rv.
