Poultry and eggs in Canada

Just crossed into Canada at Minnasota border. They are not allowing any raw chicken or turkey or eggs from the U.S across the border due to the bird flu. Be sure to check your freezers prior to. Crossing.

I agree with spud1957 we had chicken and eggs purchased in Arizona and we had the grocery bill to prove it, we lost both even though Arizona is not a state listed as having a problem. Their position was that I had passed through states that have a problem. I agreed that it was better to be too careful than not careful enough.

Canada did not care. But our idiot guards at the US border were very concerned that our dog food was not it its original container. Let's see TSA lets 95% of bombs/guns on planes and our border agents are most concerned about dog food (last year they were upset that I had an avocado with me). I feel very safe now....

I had the same concern, so I contacted Pedigree and they responded that all their pet foods were fully cooked and "commercially sterile. Taking a copy of response with me when I leave for Alaska on Monday. Hopefully "Pedigrees" response will clear the way at the border!

If it's cooked chicken it is admissible.

Retail packages of chickens or eggs most likely don't say the state they come from. Might say where it is packaged but that doesn't mean anything.

I would not take a chance and not bring any in.

As PackerBacker said it depends on where the produce came from, if it's not from the states listed then it's ok to cross the border.
