Vegas to Quartzsite

We would like to spend a couple days in Quartzsite on our way to Tucson . Coming out of Vegas which route is the better route 95Ca or Az 93 to I40 and then onto Az 95. We would be pulling a 40FW with an HDT. We went into California couple years ago on 95Ca and it seemed somewhat rough in places and we didn't have an HDT at the time .

Here are some reviews of Lake Havasu RV parks:

Lake Havasu RV Parks

We enjoy staying at the state parks, Lake Havasu, Cattail Cove, Buckskin Mountain and the town of Parker has a county park, also. Lots of RVers in this area in January so you might want to make reservations. There are also some boondocking spots around Havasu and naturally, down in Quartzsite. Have fun!

Actually it's been quite some time since I've been that way, so I can't tell you which parks are big rig friendly, but there definitely are some. Check out the parks on rvparkreviews.com in Lake Havasu and Parker, AZ. Then maybe ask about specific ones that interest you on the "RV Parks/campgrounds" section of the forum.

AZ 95 along the Colorado River is more scenic than CA 95. You could take 95 south from Las Vegas, then I-40 east to AZ 95. Whatever you do, don't buy gas in CA...super expensive. If you don't buy gas in NV, there are easy gas stations at the I-40 exit for AZ 95.

There are some nice RV parks and State parks along the Colorado River if you choose to stop.

So which nice RV parks do you recommend and are they big rig compatible ?

Yes it is.

AZ 95 is the highway to take. It's a very pretty drive.

Just take CA 95 all the way down to Blythe (I-10). It's boring, but trouble free.
But be warned: it will be pretty hot in Quartzsite this time of year.
NO, NO, NO. Just went that route and it was horrible. the truck traffic is heavy and the roads were terrible, plus I-40 in CA was restricted to 1 lane for construction with delays. If I were to do it again this summer, it would be the 93 to 40 to AZ 95, which is the way we came back because of the roads and traffic.
