Have friends that rave about Lake Myers. They are not the party type, have two small boys and look for nice family places. Normally we like the same campgrounds. They want us to go, but I am concerned that our Large fifth wheel will not fit and we will feel like outsiders since it is mostly permanents.
In the past they have camped there with a hybrid and now have a 36ft TT. Anyone been there recently? Know which sites to request? Which to avoid?
It's been quite a few years since we've been through there, but at that time our impression was pretty much what everyone else has already said -- lots of permanents, run down, not well laid out at all, not for us. They'd have to level the place and start from scratch before we'd consider staying there.

We have driven thru as it is not far from our residence. Would never stay. Would not want to even tow rig thru their campgrd roads. Everything is so tight that you feel claustrophobic driving down a road. What we saw were campers crammed in at all angles. Yes, most seem to be permanent. I don't think I've ever had such a negative impression of a campgrd & I've been camping 45+ years!!

Thanks everyone. My hesitation comes from all of the comments and reviews I have seen over the years. I am trying to figure out why they like it and so many people do not. Most of the time the opinions I find on this forum and rvparkreviews.com align with mine for the campgrounds I like and tend to avoid the ones with consistently negative reviews about the same issues, if those issues are important to me. And to constantly hear how folks are not getting sites big enough for their rig is a big red flag!
From what I've read, it's mostly permanent folks. I also tend to judge a CG by their signage, and that place has about the worst I've ever seen. To me, if you can't keep your signs looking decent, that says a lot about your business. When there hasn't been recent reviews on rvparkreviews, I just pass.
