Type of Camper Poll

Several recent threads got me wondering just how many campers are "social", "friendly" or "private", so I thought a poll might be interesting.

Social - you often go visit other campers; you invite other campers into your site to sit, visit, etc.; you happily chat whenever you come across another camper.

Friendly - you greet other campers when you pass; you may visit in passing for a few moments, but you don't do campsite visits.

Private - you keep to yourself and don't interact with other campers unless forced.

So, pick your best fit from the above and add your preferred type of destination: RV Parks, Full-hookup Campgrounds, Dry Campgrounds, Boondocking.

We are friendly sometime more private depending on the environment / mood of the time.
Mostly FHU CG's and some dry sites at sate parks.

Private, but I will smile, nod, or mumble "hello", if someone does so in passing.
Edited to add: Fed, State, County, BLM, private CGs, boondocking... Whatever, whenever.

I have to say I'm all 3. There are times like holiday weekends that I'm social. Most of the time I'm friendly. But, there are also times when I camp in the back of the park away from people and like to be left alone to relax.

Some states have great state parks and some have not so great state parks. We use our state parks most of the time as they are outstanding and most only have electric hookups but fabulous CG's and locations. Have dump stations with good clean water for the freshwater tank. Hey, that's why they put freshwater, gray water, and black water tanks in RV's so why not use them? Might as well stay home if it's a must to always have FHU's, cable, furnished WIFI, and other pamperings. Having your own WIFI with a Jet Pack MIFI is outstanding, fast, and dependable!

Friendly. I camp from boondocking to dry camping in state/fed parks, to full hookup RV parks. But there is a range for me depending on fatigue, mood, urge to talk. So I have been everything from holed up in the RV the entire short visit, to out by the campfire with camping neighbors.

So, unsurprisingly, the majority of folks consider themselves in the Friendly category. What I do find surprising is the lack of Social folks responding. On other threads, there seems to always be several folks talking about visiting other campers, walking around to meet folks, etc.

Hmmm, maybe it's all one or two posters and I'm not connecting the screen names? Or maybe they aren't as social on the internet? ๐Ÿ™‚ Or they are reducing themselves to Friendly?

I also find it interesting that some folks use State Parks as an additional category: RV Parks, FHU Campgrounds, Dry Campgrounds, Boondocking, State Parks.
