Balmorhea State Park TX.
Palo Duro Canyon near Amarillo TX.
We liked Fredericksburg TX. We stayed at the KOA outside of town. The National Museum of the Pacific War was interesting.
We stay north of Houston at The Woodlands at Rayford Crossing RV Park. That also gets you around Houston traffic.
New Orleans - we like Bayou Segnette State Park south of New Orleans.
I would exit 220 I-310, go to US90 east to the park. Then go back to I-10 the same way. Do not try to take 90 back to I-10!!
We also enjoyed the Tabasco factory at Avery Island.
Just east of Mobile AL is Meaher State Park. Although we haven't stayed there, it's on our list. Gets good reviews.
At Chattahoochee FL we like East Point Corps of Engineers park. You can find it on www.recreation.gov under the Georgia listings for Lake Seminole.
After Tallahassee, I would take exit 225 (US19) south. Manatee Springs State Park, Rainbow Springs State Park at Dunnellon are 2 of our favorites.
After New Port Richey, take US54 east to get back to I-75. In Wesley Chapel FL we like Quail Run RV Resort.
In Belle Glade FL we like Ortona South Corps of Engineers campground. out in the country overlooking the Caloosahatchee River part of the Okeechobee Waterway leading from Lake Okeechobee to the Gulf. You can see Alligators, Manatees and beautiful boats and yachts pass by.
In South Florida the Native American Museum is interesting: http://www.ahtahthiki.com/
