Heading from Arizona to the Florida Keys along interstate 10. Does anyone have suggestions on must see sites and recommended places to stay in a 31' motor home?

Big Laggon state park in Pensacola is a nice place to stay. It is just a few miles from the naval air station that has a free museum with alot of history and is home to the Blue Angels. Also Grayton Beach in Santa Rosa Beach and St. Andrews in Panama City Beach are nice state parks as well. As an earlier person stated check out the state parks in Florida we have some very nice ones that all have a different appeal to them. Safe travels

If you like beaches stop at St Joseph Pennisula SP and St George Island SP in the panhandle of Florida. They are south of I-10 near Appalachicola. If you want to stay near the interstate, Falling Waters SP and Florida Caverns SP are also interesting. They are just west of Tallahassee.

Army Corps of Engineers WP Franklin Lock near Ft Myers is excellent. In the Keys, Bahia Honda is my favorite place. It has the longest natural beach in the Keys and the entire island is a beautiful nature preserve. Beautiful place to walk around.

Florida has many beautiful state parks. Check them out.

Thank you all so much for the wonderful suggestions. I'm sorry it took so long to reply back, I was off the grid for a while.

We will be heading east on Friday. I looks like I will be adding a few extra days to the trip to see the great sights you suggested.

Thank you again,
McGruff

Balmorhea State Park TX.
Palo Duro Canyon near Amarillo TX.
We liked Fredericksburg TX. We stayed at the KOA outside of town. The National Museum of the Pacific War was interesting.
We stay north of Houston at The Woodlands at Rayford Crossing RV Park. That also gets you around Houston traffic.
New Orleans - we like Bayou Segnette State Park south of New Orleans.
I would exit 220 I-310, go to US90 east to the park. Then go back to I-10 the same way. Do not try to take 90 back to I-10!!
We also enjoyed the Tabasco factory at Avery Island.
Just east of Mobile AL is Meaher State Park. Although we haven't stayed there, it's on our list. Gets good reviews.
At Chattahoochee FL we like East Point Corps of Engineers park. You can find it on www.recreation.gov under the Georgia listings for Lake Seminole.
After Tallahassee, I would take exit 225 (US19) south. Manatee Springs State Park, Rainbow Springs State Park at Dunnellon are 2 of our favorites.
After New Port Richey, take US54 east to get back to I-75. In Wesley Chapel FL we like Quail Run RV Resort.
In Belle Glade FL we like Ortona South Corps of Engineers campground. out in the country overlooking the Caloosahatchee River part of the Okeechobee Waterway leading from Lake Okeechobee to the Gulf. You can see Alligators, Manatees and beautiful boats and yachts pass by.
In South Florida the Native American Museum is interesting: http://www.ahtahthiki.com/

I would allocate several days going from Lafayette La. to NO, great food, many historic homes than of course NO. After that would be the Naval Air museum at Pennsacola. Many campgrounds on that route, Allstays.com would be your friend for a spot.

I'd make sure to make a stop in San Antonio to see the Alamo and river walk, and then make a stop in New Orleans. While there, check out the WWII museum. It's fabulous.
