Betwn Sacramento - Redding - RV Park Recommendation/

RoadXYZ

Been down in San Luis Obispo area for death in family - tomorrow heading North towards Redding ..

We want to take it slower going home to SE Washington, so would like some recommendations for RV Parks along the way ... we would like to get further than Sacramento tomorrow, but having a tough time finding a little rv park which has pull thrus to zip into and out of ..

Yes, we have looked at Heritage RV Park, Corning, and that looks like 352 miles, kinda would like to stop a little sooner, is that possible?

Please don't ask us to look at RV-PARK-REVIEWS we have - and know the roads are torn up between here and Sacramento as came down on those on Fri/Sat last week.

We found Big Pines in Crescent Oregon to be our choice of "returning to rv parks" if that gives you a clue as to what we are looking for .. however ... at this point just need some help, please.

On Edit : pulling 18 ft. travel trailer with Suburban 2500.

We head to Oregon from Morro Bay every year and our usual stop is the casino in Corning. About an hour south of Redding, easy off and on, $28 a night, all sites are pull throughs, diesel or gas easy and as you leave the camp ground. We stop for a streach at the Dunnigan rest stop. None of the campgrounds between Sacramento and Corning interested us.

We ended up staying at Heritage RV Park - Corning

It was further than we should have gone, and took us three times down Hwy 99 to find it .. it is behind the Subway 150 yards from the street lights off I-5 at Exit 631.

Do have to recommend the RV as it is in a nice little tree lines rows with majority of them being pull-thru ..

Try Durango RV Park in Red Bluff. If a little further is good....there are quite a few along the freeway in Redding or a little further is Mountain Gate.

Suggest you look at Rolling Hills RV park/Casino at Corning. All pull throughs with full facilities. Price is about $25. Then you also have the Casino with 3 resturants and of course "Gambling". Take the "Liberal Ave" turn left after you get off the freeway, go across the overpass and then turn left on the frontage road.

red Bluff RV park in Red Bluff is quite nice. Great Mexican restaurant in th little strip mall beside park. Pool and pull thru spots, great for overnight stay and less expensive then Durango.

I've stayed at, and can recommend, Cal Expo in Sacramento, Flag City RV in Lodi, Premier and Mountain Gate in Redding. Haven't stayed at, but have checked out and would stay at, Durango in Red Bluff and the one at the casino near Corning. About this time a few years back, overnighted at a park on the west side of the freeway about midway between Redding and Sacramento. Ants infested the RV by morning. Somewhere along there is a park next to a golf course. It's been over a decade, but it was nice as I remember.

With family in both Pismo and Redding, we always stay at Flag City RV. It's right off 5. Passport America park. A few miles to the east (Highway 12, I think) is all kinds of shopping, including In 'n Out Burger.

If you decide on Cal Expo, get there before the afternoon rush hour traffic.

Sycamore Grove South of Red Bluff it's COE, large pull thrus and about 15 sights have power.
You can even get a TV signal there.

Take care!

I-505 and I-5 merge at Dunnigan just south of the Happy Time RV Park.

Another option might be the KOA in West Sacramento.
To some it's a six pack, to me it's a support group.

There are two RV parks at Dunnigan. If you are coming up I-505 or I-5, the first RV park is on the right at the Pilot Truck Stop (Road 9). The name is Happy Time RV Park.

The other one is Campers Inn (campersinnrv.com). They have a lot of trees and a small golf course. I believe they may have a small store also.

Happy Time would be the easiest to get to for freeway access and it's the newest of the two.
To some it's a six pack, to me it's a support group.

:h Lower Salt Creek Shoreline Campground - Lakehead, California

Shasta-Trinity National Forest

Only been through that area once ('97), we did an overnight by Lake Shasta. Not sure of the name of the site. More or less a parking lot campsite if I remember correctly.

Edit PS: Just looked on a map, looks like all the above are above Redding & you want some below.

Have you looked around the Sacramento National Wildlife Refuge Complex, located approximately 90 miles north of the city of Sacramento:

Colusa-Sacramento River State Recreation Area - Camping- This area is currently being run by the town of Colusa. Electricity and water are not available. http://www.parks.ca.gov/?page_id=461
