BLM land-Tucson Arizona question

If memory serves me correctly, as we've traveled West on I-10 towards Tuscon AZ, I've noticed camping just off the interstate. Is this BLM land or something else?

You might be thinking of Snyder Hill at Tucson. Here's a great write-up of it by an excellent boondocking blogger:

Just West of Tucson with the campground visible from I10 is one our favorites Picacho Peak State Park. There are several RV Resorts near I10 on the East side of Tucson.

Maybe you are thinking about the area off I-10 near Quartzite. Dick

I did some research for you. There is little to no BLM land east of Tucson along the I-10 corridor. It is primarily a combination of Arizona State Trust land and private property.

Of course, you'll need a property owner's permission to camp on their property.

To camp on AZ state trust land, you'll need to obtain a permit. I'm providing a link here for the permit application site. A family permit ($20) will allow for two adults and any children under 18 years of age. You are limited to 14 days of camping per year with your family permit.
