Can anyone recommend a good book relating to camping at Yellowstone NP?

I found "Yellowstone & Grand Teton National Parks" by Lonely Planet, 3rd Edition Feb 2012, to be a wealth of information and suggestions.

The best information I have found was online and there are hundreds of good sources including the US park service website. This includes information on the roads, the wildlife, facilities inside the park, and on tours and staying healthy.

The best book I have found is the Moon Montana guide book which has a section on Yellowstone but also includes the surrounding area which is very helpful when planing your visit to the park and areas you will pass through getting there or going home as with the Jackson Hole area, Glacier NP, and the Tetons.

In terms of personal safety most of the deaths in Yellowstone are the result of people falling into one of the hot thermal pools and not from an encounter with the wildlife.

Death in Yellowstone was an excellent book. There is also one for the Grand Canyon.

It should be required reading for anyone going to any type of Natioanl Park. more so when dangerous wildlife and mountains are involved!

This is a great book and I agree, it should be required reading before you go to YNP. The things we saw while we were there just baffled my mind. People climbing off the boardwalks to walk across the crust of a thermal--don't they know those crusts can give way at any moment? People petting bull bison. People trying to get close to a 9-point elk for pictures. People leaning over boardwalks to touch the extremely hot water. Geez. Honorary Darwin Award winners.

Yep Dodge Guy!

People would be surprised at the "camping errors" made that have cost people loss of property, if not their lives!!

I purchased Deaths in Yellowstone from the bear and wolf preserve gift shop back in 1998. Very good read.

Geysers of Yellowstone by Scott Bryan. Not about camping but well worth having when you visit. My most used Yellowstone guidebook.

Thanks for the comments. I'll put them to good use. I did fine Yellowstone Treasures on Amazon. It's a 2013 publication (reprint). Looks good.
