We plan on visiting the RV Museum and will arrive on a Sun and stay just that 1 night. It appears there might be 2 campgrounds to choose from. Would like to hear from anyone who has used either or others within 15 or so miles. Some KOA's are admitedly fine but generally we aren't too high on them especially if more than $30. We aren't big and don't need much as long as the place isn't tacky or unpleasant.

If you are there to see the RV Museum, they let you overnight in their parking lot. We stayed there on our way thru several years ago, spent the morning touring the museum, unless you dig in to the archives upstairs, that's about enough time! Worth seeing, but it won't take a full day. They did request "no slides", so you should fit in perfectly! ST

We stayed at the Elkhart Campground a couple of nights. It was quiet and nice while we picked thru the surplus shops.

A disadvantage of a fairgrounds park is if some event is going on there - then if you can get a site, you're cheek-to-jowl with other folks. If you're not keen on KOAs and don't need tons of amenities, just a clean decent place, Elkhart CG works well. I'd recommend reserving a spot - they're popular and if there are local events or rallies, you could end up in a muddy field. (Caution: most sites are on grass, not gravel.)

Ebys Pines in Bristol gets good reviews, and has been there for 45 years that I'm aware of. Haven't been there myself in a good number of years, though.

There is a no real frills campground here in Elkhart. The "Elkhart campground" is just a few miles from the RV/MH H.O.F. it is not bad. It is not some place to call a destination but has full hooks, place for a campfire, pool, and clean shower house. The KOA Granger (West of Elkhart) is nice, may be expensive. The KOA Middlebury (East of Elkhart)has a fenced in dog park and is also just a campground not really someplace to spend a week. I hope this helps.

The RV/MH H.O.F. is about a 2 or 3 hour experience you will not need to plan on opening and closing it both on the same day.
