Have to spend a several weeks to more than a month in Columbus and looking for a campground. Funny thing is I'm a born and raised a Buckeye "Hamilton" but I wasn't a camper back then, so I'm not familiar with campgrounds in the area.

Jackson Lake RV Park is 2+ miles from Canal Winchester near Lithopolis. It has new owners with a new pool and some upgrades. My cousin stayed there last summer while visiting and said it was good.

Cardinal has three weekends a year with statewide trap shoots and they are full those dates. Be sure to call first with your dates to confirm availability.

Thanks longrider1100 will be checking out Jackson Lake the next time we visit Canal Winchester family.

You won't be far from Hollywood Casino. They have a old people buffet for $6.99 on Tuesday's. Not far is a nice shopping mall, Tuttle Crossing, north on 270. Also lots of resturants in that area, Hillard. Not much in the area of the cg. It is a US Highway US 40. Known as Broad Street in Columbus. All the white fence is Darby Dan Farms. Thoroughbred Horses. A very nice Metro Park is also nearby.

It's my dads camper, my mom can barely get him to go to St Mary's SP and another SP I can't recall the name. If he had to move every two weeks he'd blow a gasket. They went camping with me about 7 years ago and my mom had to have a camper afterward. They had never been camping till they went with me. He's 75 and doesn't care much for challenges.

Alum Creek and Deleware State Parks are near Columbus. Get two weeks in each.

Some sites have full hookups I think. How much cg experience are you looking for? Just a place to plug in or entertainment?

Jackson Lake is about 30 minutes from DT Columbus 1.5 in rush hour.

What part of Columbus will you be visiting?

We have stayed at Cardinal quite a few times. Nice campgrounds and just a stones throw off I-71. If you go there try to get a spot towards the back not too far from the indoor pool. It is quieter there. If there is a big trap shoot going on you might find gun noise in the air. But, overall it is quite a nice place to stay and has full hookups. If you look up the campground it is in Merango and is just about 1/4 mile off I-71 which takes you right into Columbus. Good Luck and Happy Camping.

Have stayed at Cross Creek which was convenient for our stay at the time and we have stayed at Lazy R Campground near Granville. It's a little further out from Columbus but very nice as well. Would recommend either park.

If you are just looking for a place to park the RV that has full service sites I believe Alton RV Park would work. Now this is basically a gravel parking lot so nothing fancy but it is always full with people who live a few months in Ohio and then move south for the winter. This place is located on the west side of Columbus but I-70 & I-270 are close by. If you want some nature to visit while here Prairie Oaks and Battle Darby Metro Parks are close by so you can do some hiking/fishing. Battle Darby has Biason at the park that you can see on one of their trails.

Yes 2 weeks is the max stay. You can move to another site and start a new cycle. They do have 3 full hook-up sites

Maybe if you describe your needs the answers will be more appropriate rather than asking simply for a Columbus area campground. I most always camp at government parks and it appears you are looking for a private park, sorry I can't help.

Tomorrow's Stars is near Springfield.

Cross Creek is near Delaware.

Cardinal Camping Center, Marengo

These are all excellent facilities. Need to know more about your location in Columbus. Check rvparkreviews.com regarding details on these campgrounds. I would recommend all 3 facilities.
