Corpus Christi area "safe"???

We are considering going to the Corpus Christi/Rockport area next February. My wife is somewhat "concerned" about whether or not the area is "safe" or not.

Any comments??? I thought you snowbirds would have the inside info on the question. 🙂

Like previous poster indicated, Corpus is like any other city its size. I'd be more concerned about Feb weather. A little too cold for my taste.

Corpus is no different than any other medium size city. Some bad areas, some good areas. Motels along I37 entering the city are particularly theft prone (car break ins). Rockport area has no particular problems. If you have PX privileges there's the Naval Air Station on the south end of Ocean Drive in Corpus. I lived there 3 years without any special concerns.
