D & W Lake RV Park Champaign IL

Just found this little private campground just outside of Champaign, IL. Very well kept, easy access to I57 just north of town. Great stop if you're going to Champaign or a midpoint between St. Louis and Chicago.

We camp at Prairie Pines a couple times a year. It is a part of the former Chanute Air Base. It was a mobile home park before it became an RV park. There are no "pull-thru" sites as such, yet they are made pull thru by directing you accross the grass infield to park. No pool, but paved roads. Mature trees, satellite access from many sites, plenty of room between the sites, and a friendly staff.

FYI there also is Prairie Pines Campground in Rantoul IL and is about 10 miles North of D&W and its a full Hookup Campground every site!!! It does have a bathhouse and on site laundry and WIFI. Exit 250 off of I-57. ALSO Big rig friendly!!!!
