First ever trip - please comment on our park choices

After literally years of deciding what kind of RV we wanted, and then another year figuring out the floor plan we wanted, we have just taken possession of a 2010 F-350 SuperDuty 4x4 Diesel Dually, and a 2010 40' Keystone Alpine FW. Some might call us crazy, but we didn't want to be upgrading every year until we got to where we knew we wanted to be.

I'm in the midst of planning our first trip, Toronto to Tenn, and here are some of the campgrounds I'm considering:
  • KOA Dayton Ohio

  • Singing Hills RV Park in Cave City, KY

  • Memphis Graceland RV Park (TomSawyers is flooded out)

  • Cummins Ferry Road RV Park and Marina, Salvisa KY OR
  • Pinecrest RV Park, Russell Springs, KY

  • Little Mexico Campground, Covington PA

  • Brennan Beach RV Resort, Pulaski, New York

Also in there - a recommendation for a nice spot in Nashville would be appreciated.

Any comments or helpful advice is very much appreciated. We are both a little nervous but are planning only to do a max of 300 miles a day, and usually a little less.

Oh, and we're travelling with 2 dogs. A 90 lb galoot, and a 30 lb diva.

Singing hills is fine, as long as you have no kids that need to be entertained.
We use the 2-2-2 rule. Travel no more than 200 miles, get there by 2 pm, stay for 2 nights.
But we are fulltimers, which makes that easier to do.

The most invaluable resource for campground info:

RV Park Reviews

When we are on the road we first look at Passport America parks along our route, then check them out on RV Park reviews. If there are no PA parks we then use RV PArk Reviews to locate a good spot.

One idea is to take your first trip in your driveway or somewhere close to home, in the event of an emergency (forgotten stuff, appliance malfunction, etc)

Brennan Beach has a ton of seasonals and a small section for transients. I have a number of family members who have seasonal sites there. It's great fun for kids, and there are lots of activities on the weekend. The RV sites are fairly open, grassy and close together.

We liked the KOA in Nashville. It will have plenty of sites for a rig your size. Have a great trip.
