Was on the Ft Desoto website and found that there are sites available when we want to go there. However I can not find out the size of the sites. We have a 30 ft TT. Are all the sites similiar in size or how do I find out?

The boat ramp is 800' wide....largest I've ever seen at a public ramp.

Also agree it's a great park. I've been there 5 or 6 times. Can be difficult to get a site on weekends. I actually got a site there for Dec 27th for 6 nights. I was surprised they had any openings. The beach (down the road from the campground) goes on forever, as does the boat ramp (also outside the campground). It's the largest boat ramp I've seen in my life (and I'm pretty old). :B

One or two important suggestions... When you camp there, there are a lot of raccoons and they love campers. They will actually chew through your water hose at night. there are also an ant infestation so don't leave food items in your car as they will find a way to get in.
If you have pets, the pet area has a lot of low limbs so make sure you check the photos on the website. It is a nice campground but they are not full hookups. You will need to dump at the dump station so if you are going to be there for long, it may be better to use their comfort stations for showers etc.

Raccoons didn't bother our water lines. However, if it is super dry out with little rain, I can see that happening. All the surrounding water is salty. They did sniff around the grill. In wild areas, I spray for ants. I did there, and had no issues.

The wild Nanday Conures living in the park were cool.

Enjoy!

With a 30tt you can not book area 1, that has height / length restrictions and is only for PUP and tent. You can fit into the other 2 areas, (2&3) .

Area 3 is our favorite, along the water.. Sites 200-220 are all real nice.

It is a great park. If you are pet people, the roadway back to the pet side is a teensy bit tight in some areas...just navigate with care.

Restrooms are clean, and the beaches are amazing!

Have fun!

Keep clicking until you get to a specific site and it will have the dimensions plus a photograph so that you can see what the site really looks like. It's a great park. Have a good trip!
