Does anyone have any recommendations for campgrounds in glacier? Would like electric at a minimum and to camp inside the park if possible.
Thanks, Sticky

We'll be staying at the KOA in St. Mary in July. I'm not usually a KOA fan either and the prices are very high, but we will have a dog with us and I'd prefer to have amenities since we'll be staying for a week. Like most popular tourist destinations you pay more to stay close.

That would be my pick for the east side (which we prefer). On the west side we have stayed at North American on past visits as it suits our needs and not nearly as expensive as the KOA over there - the KOA is nice but we don't need all those frills and paying for them.

I love that link you posted. I wish every national park had something like that.

Thanks for all the replies. I ended up booking a site at the St. Mary KOA on the east side for now but may break it up and do a couple of nights on the west side, probably the KOA there. Not generally a big fan of most KOAs but both of these seem to be rated pretty well. Still open to any suggestions.

Thanks, Sticky

We were looking for electric or hookup sites also but after some thought wanted more of a "camping experience" for our 1st big trip with our granddaughter so opted for 7 nights via 2 sites in St Mary campground. I plan to purchase or borrow a generator to run A/C during day when permitted and if need be. I can also have batteries charged for fussy time when Curious George videos help us out.

We made reservations several weeks ago and only had a couple sites to choose from.

No hook-up at all in the Park but some great campgrounds. Lots of private ones on US 2 between West Glacier and Columbia Falls. Only about 3 campgrounds on the much more remote east side but there is a KOA.

SORRY, Misread. Thinking of Crater Lake, not Glacier

My pick at Glacier is Mountain Meadows RV in the town of Hungry Horse, near West Glacier

No hookups in the park. Good luck getting a spot. There is another thread on this in the last couple of weeks. Outside the west entrance are some very nice places a mile or two outside of the entrance. Glacier Campground is nice with electric and water and then for full hookups, there is the KOA and I believe one more all within a couple of miles of the entrance.
