Glamis, Ca sand dunes

Met two other Boondockers at the dunes this weekend east of El Centro.

I drove out Thursday after work and arrived just after midnight and my buddies showed up after work on Friday.

This hill is called Oldsmobile and you drag race up the right side and descend down the left.

Driving home we had a 30mph headwind all the way into San Diego. Burned lots of fuel but passed lots of other guys towing their trailer up the grade with gas trucks ๐Ÿ˜‰

I agree with gecko road. I think we could roll in and out without a problem but most weekends we can go are holidays and last time the crowds were ridiculous.

I believe you would be perfectly fine on Gecko Road or Cement Flats next to Gecko. It is very hard packed just off the asphault.

Looks like you had beautiful weather at camp. Since switching to the DP we haven't been down to Glamis. Time and also the thought of burying the DP in the sand:(

It's a blast but avoid major holidays and full moons, there will literally be easily one hundred thousand people there then.

Cool! Haven't been on the dunes but have driven through on I-8 and a backroad.
