Thanks again. I hope to try a grouper sandwich. But I gather we are in the off season for grouper. Still, thanks everyone. Pete

If you don't have to stay in and around the St. Pete Beach area head east on Park Blvd, once you pass under US 19 it turns into Gandy Blvd. A couple of miles east, on your right you'll find the Crab Shack. Good eating.

If you like your fish smoked the best is Ted Peters. If you've never had smoked mullet, mackerel or salmon then you oue it to yourself to stop there and give your taste buds a quality surprise.
I am a competent smoker and have done many fish and my wife doesn't much care for smoked fish. There are some good suggestions here. What about any of the places at John's Pass?

There is Bubba Grump Shrimp but a few non-chain local restaurants as well.

I second Ted Peters. I was just there last week and it was amazing!! Cash only though so come prepared! If you want to cook your own then visit The Key West Shrimp Company. It's five minutes from Ted Peters. We got some very good Hog Snapper and some shrimp.

The Hurricane is good. Great view at sunset on the rooftop if you're interested in a few pre dinner cocktails. Head down to one of the lower levels when you're ready for dinner.
