Grants NM campgrounds

We will be traveling I40 in a couple of weeks. Need suggestions on one night stay over in Grants area. RV Parkreviews has pretty sketchy reviews. On our last trip through there, we noticed several campgrounds in the area that didn't seem to be on their reviews. Don't want to pay $$$ for the KOA. Just need a quick in and out. Meteor Crater is too short a drive and Gallup in too long. Suggestions please?

X2 on Sky city or Dancing eagle - sky is a lil bigger than Dancing eagle but both a good for over night stay. Dancing eagle was like $7 bucks. Clean lot full hook ups.

Sky City casino is under 20 minutes to the east of Grants and Dancing Eagle casino is just 5 more minutes east of that. Both have RV parks that are good for overnight stays, Dancing Eagle is the better value being $11 a night. Grants itself has a KOA and a few other small RV parks in the area, railroad is very close to some of these. Bluewater state park has been mentioned and it is very picturesque, definitely worth a visit when you have a couple of days to spend. It is a bit off the interstate and quite secluded with very scant offerings as it pertains to food and fuel, best to come stocked for a few days.

We have stayed at both Dancing Eagle and Sky City a number of times. Both are convenient to I-40 an have fuel stations close by.
Safe travels!

Blue Water Lake State park is a nice campground just a few miles off, south of I-40. They have water and electric and a dump station and the fees were low {$14 I think}. The Views are spectacular, but you would probably need reservations. We spent a couple of nights there and look forward to going back the next time we are in the area.

We have stayed at Blue Spruce RV Park several times over the years. It is easy on and off I-40. It is just a normal gravel parking lot, maybe a little tight in some spots, but it has full hookups and it is only 19.00 - 20.00. We think it is a good overnight stop.

We stayed at Lava land last Oct. before going into the balloon fest. OK CG and if no one is office just take a empty site.

Sky City was a good overnight for US going to California 2 years ago. Seems like it was 20 miles or so east of Grants. Just a nice parking lot with gravel islands ... easy in and out.

There are a couple of casinos in that general area that used to be okay. Check RV park reviews for towns within 15 mi. of Grants and I think they will show up.
