Lake Cachuma Ca.

Having never been there I was thinking of going next year.

I am looking for hook up sites,FHU would be nice but partial would work.Does not have to be near the water but some shade would be nice.

Does anyone have any recommendations for which loop or site that would be good? Or any thing that would be helpful in picking a site.

Thanks.

Seems like choices are few around that area. There is Flying Flags in Buellton but they are rather expensive, crowded and some of the roads and spots are rather tight. It is well maintained and friendly staff.

Nothing else in the Solvang area is there? Heard there were a few small RV parks around Lompoc.

Lake Cachuma is very low at this time if we don't have a wet winter it will dry up next summer fall. We live 45 minutes from Cachuma , if you want full hook ups you'll have to stay in a trailer park like setting . We always stay in site 125 through 132 they have water and electricity no sewer across from the lake campground store. So if you want sewer hook ups you'll have to stay in the trailer park area kinda close for me but you may like it.

Thanks 53 willys, this is the information I was REALLY looking for!

All the other stuff I already Knew, anyone else have some good info to share?

That drought is crazy. I camped there as a kid growing up in goleta. I wish I could visit sb county though. Haven't been there since 1984.

Was just there in August and there is no lake, more like a puddle. Only a couple of full shade spots as the trees are stressed. Not a bad park for an over night, no longer a destination though.

They have full hookup sites that are identical to a mobile home park. They have sites that are just water and electric and have shade and quite a bit of room between sites. They also have many dry camping sites. When we had a lake there is was a great place to camp.

Just drove through. Shade is increasingly limited as the trees struggle in the drought. Water is so low it's barely a lake. Even heavy rain won't change much by next year, need multiple years. Use Google Earth to find your site.

Keep in mind if the drought continues the lake level is low.
