Hi All,
The wife and I will be traveling for the first time up around Northern Ohio and Western New York. We have a 32 ft TT and would like to stay at campsite close to the lakes. Any suggestions. We will not be taking our bikes so walking will be in order.

Thanks for any suggestion.

See you at the camp fire,

All three are pretty nice.

Going to be hard to beat 4 mile and the falls region. If you do venture further east, Fair Haven State Park is pretty nice. The beach area is decent for Ontario. There is a renaissance fair nearby, as well as a high bluffs area fairly close that makes for an interesting hike.

We were on Lake Ontario 2 years ago and I think the campground was called Alligator Point KOA. It is right on the water and everything you'd want.

As per the previous poster, 4 Mile Creek State Park (NY) puts you right on Lake Ontario. Access to any other NY State park is free with your window tag, including parking at the Falls which is about 20 minutes of easy highway from there. You can even walk across the bridge to Canada (with your passports) for an experience of sights and sounds called Clifton Hill. Fort Niagara is a few minutes away, which is fun to visit. There are beautiful sites along the lake, and even if you can't get lake front, all of the sites are huge. This place is one of our favorites when we camp in that area. Lake Erie State park is nice, but there is nothing to do in the area.

Maumee state park does not rent boat any more. But still very nice.

The Seaway Trail across NY along Lake Ontario passes many state parks. Most do not have sewer connections, but many have sites on the lake or the Seaway.

That would actually be 4 Mile Creek S.P.
Nice park, large sites, no sewer sites though.
Town of Lewiston is nice to walk around and check out what is happening in Art Park (think it still exists).

Maumee Bay State Park near Toledo is nice. They have houseboat and jet ski rentals. Nice size campsites also.

Geneva SP, Geneva, Ohio - right on Lake Erie, walkable from the CG to lakeshore (though not necessarily to beach). Nice CG, very tidy. Electric hookups available.
