Lake Norman Motorcoach Resort

Looking at going here next weekend. Have a 38' fiver. Have read some reviews that there is not much room in campground. Will I have any issues with the fiver and what do you think of the campground itself? What level do you like and is there any road noise on the 3rd? Thanks.

Up date to the restaurant across the street from LKN Motorcoach Resort. It is great. We went there last night to have steak and it was the best steak I've had at a restaurant. I've been to places like Morton's, but I must say the ribeye we had there was so much better. We've lived up her for about 8 years and this was the only second time we've been there last time was years ago and I don't think I had steak. But I do recommend this place 100%!

We stayed there maybe 3 or 4 times.....always on the very top but have gone down the hill to the end of the road and even to the bottom rd nearer the water to turn around and hook up our tow car...then back up the hill...no problem, not even close to dragging the rear end.....the sites are big enough but that is it..we had a 41 ft with tag axle at the time....quite enough campground..nice view of the water....Chuck

We stayed there a few years ago in a motorhome. Wouldn't recommend it for a fiver. Land falls away very steeply from the road to the water. If you stay in the lower areas, I'd worry about the rear end dragging on the way down. We wouldn't take our moho to the bottom. Photos online are deceptive.

Nice place. It is more upscale and why its called a resort. Live not too far away from it. "Hwy 150" is a two lane road that has 45 mph zone there. There is a restaurant across the street that is decent.

i am here now. i think level 3 back in is good. better view of lake. try to get 42 or 43

Personally I wouldn't stay there. It's just a paved parking lt with lines painted on the asphalt. HWY 150 is just outside your door, and it is a good drop to the lake. People do stay there, But I'm somehow missing the draw.

And it seems they are trying to turn it into a seasonal parking lot, and are selling sites. Which would make the only difference between what it was, and what it is becoming. Is they cut down all the trees, and paved it.

If you want to stay in that area, and want to be on the lake. Wild Life woods IMOP would be a better choice, as the nightly sites are in a wooded section near the pool, and a short walk to the lake.
If you don't need to be on the lake. Try Cross Country. They also have a pool, Put, put, and fishing lakes, and trees. Either one is a step up from the Motor Coach resort.

It's been several years since I rode through to check it out. I remember thinking... Where are the trees? Looked like the campers are packed in pretty tight! Road noise from Hwy 150 wouldn't be fun. Don't recall the rates back then during the off-season. But, it wasn't my cup of tea, anyway.

For me, I prefer Ebenezer Park, a 26 acre York County, S.C. park, just over the NC/SC state line in Rock Hill, SC. Not as much "glitz". Much bigger sites, FHUs, free WiFi that works throughout most of the park. Open lake views and woodsy sites available. The bath house is reasonably clean during the season and very much so during the off-season. Neighborhood is super. The park sits between some expensive homes. No road noise other than around the public boat ramp. First come, first served with 69 sites. There are maybe 3 or 4 sites that I wouldn't be happy with. The price is in the range of $28/night.

Unless you have a specific need to be in Sherrills Ford, you can use Google Earth to view a portion of both parks. IIRC, the address of Ebenezer is around the 4400-4500 Blk of Boatshore Rd. Rock Hill, S.C.
