Lancaster area restaurants?

I've already been on trip advisor, but want additional input.

What is your favorite buffet/smorgasbord in the Lancaster area. We are looking at one for breakfast & a different one for lunch or dinner. We don't like "family style" where we share a big table with strangers. Thanks!

Had lunch there (Shady Maples)today. Other than being big, I was not impressed. Their food was OK and on par with so many other buffets including some of the chains. Sure was not special. Liked their grocery store. RV dealer supplies were minimal. Not worth the drive over from Codorus State Park, IMO.

I agree, you must eat at the Shady Maple. Lots of choices. I would also agree go for lunch rather than dinner. Lunch is much cheaper. We always go for our birthday. You eat for free with a paying guest. Makes the meal half price. I have not eaten at Millers in years (it was good then). Probably since we found the Shady Maple.

We always go for an early lunch. Great selection, easy parking, and no lines in the restaurant or at the buffet. There are two buffets - much of the selections are the same, but we've always found a goodie or two at one that the other section lacks. Never been disappointed!

BINGO! Then when we're stuffed beyond belief, we head down to the store in the basement, which is as big as the buffet! There's also a country furniture store a few hundred feet down the road, in a building that housed the buffet until they built the current massive structure. The grocery store and Good's store right next door are great too.

There's also a Shady Maple RV dealer about a half mile down the road.

Oregon Dairy off Rt. 222 is nice. They have table service and a breakfast buffet.

We ended up eating at Shady Maple twice! After being there once, we didn't want to risk having a lesser experience... Highly recommend the pot roast & roast pork (like pulled pork).

I was worried that he was talking about Lancaster, CA. I live in Lancaster, CA and there are no really good buffets in our town.

It has been a few years since we were there, but Millers has consistently been good. Good quality food, great selection and atmosphere. It is the first place I ever had chicken and waffles, yum.

They are all good in Lancaster but....Shady Maple is the absolute BEST!!! Click here to view their menu and price list. You will not be disappointed. By the way, eat their on your birthday and it's FREE !!

Allow some time to visit the Goods store and the furniture store right their next to Shady Maple. Do some food shopping right there at the grocery store and be sure to go to the back of the store for some GREAT cookies, pies, cakes and breads. YUMMY !!!

Well worth the drive through Amish Country and not via 23!!

You might enjoy the large "Goods Store" and also huge grocery market near by.

rd 896 N from 340 is a nice drive as is Hollander Rd from Intercourse.

Enjoy!

Actually the Shady Maple is in East Earl. We never miss the chance to eat there when in the area.

For us, no trip to Lancaster is complete without a meal at the Shady Maple. ^
Comparing Miller's & Dienner's, Dienner's is a smaller buffet but in my opinion has more "local" food.
And our favorite bakery is Bird-in Hand Bakery, another must visit for us. http://www.bird-in-hand.com/places-to-eat/bird-in-hand-bakery/

PA. Has anyone tried Miller's or Dienner's for dinner? My hubby is talking their steak night tonight... Any favorite foods at any of these that are more "local" than baked ham etc.? Thanks!
