Las Vegas

We will be traveling through Las Vegas on or around June 16 2021. It will most likely be hot that time of year. Do any of the Casinos have electrical hookups to run my AC and walking distance to the strip. This is only a one night stay .

We will be there the same time. We drove through lots of these places on a scouting trip last month (Before we bought our new RV). Many of them seemed pretty sketchy. We decided on Oasis

Rented car from rental downtown. Cost was significantly cheaper than getting car at airport.

Why rent a car (especially at today's prices) when taxis in LV are so cheap. Just rent a car when you are exploring for the day outside of LV.

Was at LV couple weeks ago and highly recommend UBER once you find a place that may not be within walking distance. Had never used UBER before but it worked out great. Airport to Casino. Casino to get rental car. Both times took less than 10 min for driver to show up and cost was worth it.

Circus Circus has a tall fence around the camping area and the exit and entrance goes right by the office. While it is a parking lot feel with pedestals it is so large that your neighbors are over 100 feet away. It also has several well kept dog runs with pea gravel.

I think I covered that, just giving that option. As to security downtown...I stayed at Main Street Station during New Years just a couple years ago. Walked back and forth many times...never a problem but I do agree, several suspect people walking about.

After living there for nearly 4 years and making a few visits since, there is no way we would stay at an unsecured RV campground/park in LV.

Circus Circus vs Sam's Town. Circus Circus: 3/5 stars. Sam's Town: 5/5 stars. Uber/Lyft if you need to go further than you want to walk.

Circus Circus is a parking lot atmosphere. Sam's Town is more lush.

We stay at the KOA at the off-strip Sam's Town Casino. Free tour bus goes to the strip or downtown about every hour but not all night.

I avoid LV when possible and RVing but particularly when it’s hot. Here’s a website with some suggestions but you’ll be packed like a sardine. Watch for voltage drops too. An autoformer is a good idea.
