Minneapolis/Twin Cities RV Park needed.

Planning to go visit the son in Minneapolis next few weeks, and need an RV park recommendation.

He lives in the Dinkytown area of Minneapolis,(near the U of Minnesota and Mississippi River) and from past experience, parking there would be non-existent for my truck and camper (an on board Lance truck camper) in his area, even just for a short visit.

So really we're looking for a place with close access to either the Metro Minneapolis train transit or alternatively, the bus lines running through town.

Thanks in advance for any assistance!

Another vote for Lebanon Hills, this park is very clean and if you want mass transit, you could drive to(10 minutes) and park at Mall of America for free and then take the light rail to the University of Minnesota, which I think is the Blue line to the Green line. Note: The light rail is located on the southeast corner of the Mall of America.

Enjoy!

Update:

thanks to suggestions here, stayed at Lebanon Hills in Eagan. Nice place indeed!

Unfortunately, plans changed during the trip, and so had to stay a few days longer than originally planned.

And, NO VACANCY all over the place. Called a dozen campgrounds, and nothing available. Lebanon Hills was booked solid, so had to leave there.

So, ended up at the one place I was told to avoid. East of St Paul.

And for the life of me, I cannot see why??????? This was a superb campground! Clean, neat, friendly folks. Good shopping, restaurants, entertainment nearby.

Anyway, as the small town papers used to say, a good time was had by all.

School will be out so you could ask your son to look for a lot that would allow you to park nearer him. Once school starts, Lebanon Hills is very good. It is a Dakota County CG. Todd

Posted these before. Would put you a half hour away from down town.
There just north of Forest Lake.

I'm not sure you will find any campgrounds near any sort of public transportation. Cabs and Uber are probably your best bet.

I would recommend Lebanon Hills. clicky

Nice clean campground, close to the zoo, which is great, and not too far from Minneapolis. Nice country setting.

I highly recommend Dakotah Meadows at Mystic Lake Casino. You take the 35W into Mpls downtown or there may now be transit along the 35W as well; not sure. In all costs you want to avoid the park east of St. Paul.

I don't think Lebanon Hills campground in Eagan meets your requirements but it may be an option.
