Niagara Falls in August

Thinking of a trip with our 32'MH to the falls in a couple of weeks. Suggestions on where to camp and what to see/avoid? Appreciate the help. Heard camping on Canadian side was best?

We stayed at Fifty Point Conservation Area in Grimsby Ontario. Kind of like a state park, about 20 minutes from the falls.

I very much agree with this. We stayed there for about four days and it remains one of the best campgrounds in our memory. Beautiful views of Lake Ontario within a short hike. Great separation between campsites. One of the best!:B

We stayed at Fifty Point Conservation Area in Grimsby Ontario. Kind of like a state park, about 20 minutes from the falls. The Canadian side is a tourist place but lots to do. Stay clear of Hwy 407 ETR toll road it can be quite expensive.

If you search this Forum for `Niagara Falls' there will be lots of previous posts including my suggestions for Lockport, NY.

I would also recommend staying on the Canadian side. Besides the falls there are lots of other places to tour including the wineries in Niagara on the Lake region.
We have checked out the campgrounds on the Canadian side and we always stay at the KOA Lundy's Lane. You can get a bus from the entrance of the campground right downtown so you can walk to the Falls.

We stayed on the U.S. Side at a Lewiston KOA. We then travelled into the Canadian side for the day. We never took the Rainbow Bridge across, to much traffic, we found an alternate crossing.

We've stayed on both sides. Of the places we've camped, the Niagara Falls Ontario KOA was the one we liked the best (except for the price...). Good location and a very nice cg. The Canadian side is mostly a big tourist trap, but worth a visit. Just be prepared for the border crossing. We had the best luck using the Rainbow Bridge. Know the restrictions before you get there - obviously guns going into Canada, but also fire wood and produce, and some meats coming back into the U.S. A couple of green peppers can turn into a real big deal with the wrong customs agent...

If at all possible, I suggest waiting until Sept. Seeing you're form MB I think you know my reasoning.
