Hi All,

Due to a schedule change we are just now trying to make a camping reservation for mid-August. We are in Connecticut and we have a week off.

We have a hybrid and, ideally, we'd like to find a place with full hookups, a pool, wifi, cable. We're fine with a pump out service if need be, but we don't want to deal with breaking down to dump the black and grey.

Yes, I know we'll be lucky to find anything so far into the season.

We started looking in the Finger Lakes area, but have not found the combination we're for. The Watkins Glen KOA would be good, but no vacancies.

Any ideas? Vermont might be an idea. Or Pennsylvania. We like natural areas to explore, and local bike trails are good too.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions. Trying to pick through every campground is getting old fast.

Paul, go to Lake Placid/Saranac Lake, NY area in the beautiful Adirondacks. Give the North Pole Resort a call, 518-946-7733, they are a Good Sam campground with nice sites, clean bathroom/showers and convienient to everything and lots to see and do

X2, we just spent a week there. The 100 Acre Woods side has 50A full hookup pull-through sites. You can hike, bike, paddle, or check out Lake Placid and the Olympic venues.

We just got back from a week at Lake George RV Park, it up to $105 per night plus $9.00 per kid over 12. Pricey, but we did have a great time and the facilities and amenities are first rate.

This park would be a home run for any family if you don't mind the admission cost. Hey, I hear Disney is over a $100 per person per day.

Ausable Chasm has a lot to see and do in the area. The campground doesn't have cable but we pick up 18 or 19 channels over air.

Is Maine within reach for you? If so, take a look at Acadia park... campgrounds within it (most campgrounds in the park are no hookups, double check on that), and private ones around it. There may well be last minute openings.

If you've never been to Acadia, you can easily spend a week hiking and biking there.
