To the original poster--Asheville is also a great food city! Try 12 Bones for BBQ and Tupelo Honey Cafe for the best grilled cheese and tomato soup in the world. I am an English teacher and Asheville is also world class for bookstores--there are several within walking distance downtown.

Most beautiful park we have seen. P M me for more.
While I will agree it was ok kept, the owners were not the friendliest around and they have lots of rules. Te owner walks around with a list in his back pocket or at least did the weekend we were there.
We will never return.
Wb.........I bet he heard that you were coming and printed them out " just in case " ๐

We are actually staying at the Asheville East KOA right now and I have been blogging about our stay. Please click below to see a bunch of pictures of the campground.

The Swannanoa River cuts right through the campground and there are two lakes that are pretty in the back of the campground. We have a riverfront site which is not very wide but it is very, very long. There are two fire pits on the site--one by our camper and one down by the edge of the river. Tubing on the river is a blast--you can hop in right at the end of your site.
We have kids, and there is plenty for them to do here. If you are traveling with just adults you should also consider Mama Gerties--we have stayed there as well but did not go back because there is nothing for the kids. It is also a very pretty campground at a great price.
Either way--there is so much to do out here that you probably won't be spending too much time at your site anyway.
Have Fun!!
Jeremy
