Planning a trip to Tampa, Fl the week of Thanksgiving. Plan on leaving Friday afternoon before Thanksgiving from Myrtle Beach, SC. Figure to drive no more than about 6 hours. Anyone know of locations in southern Ga, northern Florida along I 95 we could stop for the night. Read there is no overnighting at Ga or Fl. rest stops. Not ruling out Walmart, etc. but would like to stay as close to the highway that night as possible. Thanks for the info.

Flying J - St Augustine I95x305 . Area with RV Spaces .

If South Bound on I95 , take the East Bypass ( new road )

We have stayed in several Florida rest stops overnight. Not camped but just pulled over and went to sleep...maybe 6 - 8 hours max.

This dry camping spot on the old Tampa Bay bridge was a good one. It's on the Southend of the old bridge.

Dry camping in this Georgia state park was very pleasant.

Sorry it's been a few years since our trip and I don't remember the parks location in Georgia but it was a great place.

Not 6 hours (maybe 5) from myrtle beach down, but in Brunswick Georgia there is a flying j. There's also a nice park there if you want hook ups. They offer the good Sam discount.
