Passing through Phoenix

We will be making a one night stop in Phoenix and didn't want to stay at a RV park. We were hoping to find a campground that took RVs (no hookups). Trying to go cheap. So far my search hasn't turned up anything close to Phoenix. We'd even stay at a truck stop if someone knows of one we could overnight at. Any suggestions?

I-10 (Westside) Flying J, I-10 (Eastside) old Wildhorse Pass parking lot-exit at Love's, go over 10, and stay to left to old casino.

Your best bet is to go around Phoenix!!

What highway will you be on when you're going through Phoenix? Perhaps we could give a better low-cost stop for you before you even get to Phoenix. Let's us know.

There are a few "regional" or county parks on the outskirts of the Phoenix area with campsites...McDowell Mountains is one. Lost Dutchman State Park on the east side...

I would stay at one of the Casinos,hard to say which one since you didn't say what direction you are driving and where are you headed.

The Phoenix Flying J at I-10 Exit 137 has RV Parking.

Your goal is not real realistic! I assume this is your first time driving through Phoenix. Phoenix is a large metropolitan city with freeways. Your best bet is to draw a 25 mile circle around Phoenix to begin your search. On the west side of Phoenix there is a relatively inexpensive RV Park near the town of Buckeye called Leaf Verdi. It is located about 30 miles west of Phoenix. Or you could drive another 100 miles to Quartzite and there you would find all kinds of boon docking for almost nothing.
