Quartzsite vs Yuma, Az ???

Hi all......so we finally decided we wanted to go to "Q" this year BUT now I hear that "Q" may not be the place to go and that "Yuma" is fast becoming the New location to find all things RV related? I just did a "search" for info on Yuma RV/Tent event, but really didn't get any meaningful results. We have been told by those staying here in Parker, Az that "Q" is old news and that we should go to Yuma for the RV deals/bargains. It appears that Yuma's Big Tent event is an on going thing through-out the winter months?

In case your wondering, theses are all question since we are scheduled to be in "Q" next week......Thank you for any input you care to share regarding "Q" vs Yuma?

Love Quartzsite. The only thing I don't like is lack of affordable groceries.

have to drove to Parker or Blythe (blythe has Scalperson's lol)

went to the big tent once. Meh. Not as much RV stuff as there should be IMHO.

Rumour I heard was the Qz. city council was drawing up plans to sue Yuma for stealing their income base.

We have spent three winters in Yuma, and have been going to the Quartzite deal for 5 years, setting here this morning trying to decide weather we want to take the bus up again for a few days,or just drive up in the car to see the same old thing,do need a mid-winter break and bus road trip though.
For the people thats never been there its a deal you need to see at least once, then come check Yuma out, theres RV spots all over here this year,

If you are still checking the thread on thursday nights arizona sun rv has a "jam" session. You should make that, it's really cool to see a packed room full of grandmas and grandpas playing some excellent music.

Well. thank you for all the replies! I guess since we are set to go to "Q" with a group, we will stick with those plans...I'm sure it will be an experience we won't forget. I'll make different plans next year that include Yuma in them. Thanks again!

Consider Q rural and Yuma suburban. There is no RV tent show here in Yuma. There are two fulltime RV dealers here and any others are transients. There are a number of RV parts joints here. One RV part place here in Yuma in the previous years has had a "store" just outside the big tent in Q and prices at that location were higher than the Yuma location. Don't know if they will be in Q or not. There are also four "flea markets" here in the Yuma area.

Q is fun in its own way....Since Yuma is an "on-going" thru the winter months, why not try out Q for the events and then move on to Yuma? IMHO, Yuma is too yuppie and too much traffic for me...:) I like the laid back feel of Q.
Agreed, definitely a laid back feeling at Quartzsite. I dig it.

Two entirely different experiences, like comparing apples to oranges. No comparison. You need to do both to decide which is right for you.

We are leaving for Q next week, If you see my big black Dodge, stop in and say HI. I am still wondering how we will find the right place to park where we can fit into as grandparents with a 4yo, I can take my UTV out exploring, play a little music and listen to grandma discuss the finer points of quilting. ๐Ÿ™‚ JH

the only real noise in Yuma is the jet fighters flying low over the house.

:h I'll bet that's the first time Yuma has ever been described as 'yuppie'. :B I agree about the traffic, though.
:B It's been quiet on here....I knew it would get someone riled....ROL ROL
