Please share your ideas of areas to camp. Redwood National Forest.
We stayed in an RV park about 10 years ago, just can't remember which one. Near Eureka for sure. now we have a 33 foot fifth wheel and still want to camp there. Your ideas and suggestions will be greatly appreciated. We won't be going until next year, summer time of course. thanks in advance, jeff&karen. Good Luck & Be Safe ! ! !

We like Kamp Klamath, but it is not for everyone. Great location for Prairie Creek. Great whalewatching right nearby. Away from the highway. Great BBQ every Sat. night with really great live music.

But the facilities are very limited -- the bathrooms are not good due to regulatory hassles between the owner (a great guy) and the govt. If you are ok using the facilities in your own rig (including showering), this is a very good RV park. FHU, of course. Nice landscaping.

We have been back several times, and DW is a fanatic about the redwoods. Which are almost 800 miles from our home. A long, dull drive. But these are special trees.

Let us know if you need recommendations for hikes and bike rides.

I am leaving for the redwoods in the morning. I have been going up there every 2 years or so for the last 15 years. We stay in Klamath CA this time at http://www.klamathcampercorral.com/ In the past stayed at KampKlamath. Klamath is in the heart of the redwoods. You can work out north or south 1-1.5 hour and see everything.

We were at Ancient Redwoods last week and as stated earlier there was not much shade. We were out exploring the area during the day so there was no need to run the AC. The employees were very friendly and helpful. JMO

Ancient Redwoods is OK, but there is no shade at all in the site area, and it can be hot during the summer.

I would go north to Jedediah smith state park or there is one that you can watch elk from between arcata and Klamath.

I stayed at Ancient Redwoods RV in May and also checked out a couple others in the area. The others weren't even close to the quality of Ancient. Highly recommended.

Me too. As of now I am thinking about Panther Flat - USFS
Please give me enough troubles, uncertainty, problems, obstacles and STRESS so that I do not become arrogant, proud, and smug in my own abilities, and enough blessings and good times that I realize that someone else is in charge of my life.

There are several in or near Eureka but not sure which you are talking about. We have stayed at Riverwalk RV Park and found it very nice but Ancient Redwoods RV Park on the Avenue of the Giants near Redcrest is our favorite.
