Is it just me or do most camp grounds seem geared to young kids(3-10) and older adults (55+)? Nothing wrong with this, but it seems impossible to find places that fit for us. We are 38 &42 have teens and are looking for a place to make us all happy. An adult lounge( aka a bar ha )stuff for teens to do, because we all know they don't want to hang with us. Am I just searching wrong, does places like this even exist? We live in western NY.

Thank you again to everyone! When we began RVing I had hoped it would help my family bond together and help 2 of my kids to become more social. Each time we leave is a new adventure and new lesson to be learned. I too grew up entertaining myself, making new friends everywhere we went. I hope everyone has blessed and safe travels, no matter where the road leads.

My thoughts exactly. The campground is just a place to park the RV. Entertainment is up to me.

As a child, I camped with my parents and my favorite activity was wandering. I would wander the campground, wander the woods, meet people, and basically entertain myself. Now as an adult - I still do the same things. :B

We are also wanderers. Sometimes I need my cane and more medication but we still wander. Hubby is 47 and I am nine years older, unfortunately we have bodies that seem to be having the effects of osteoarthritis and fibromyalgia but we still wander. We may meet you on a trail one day.

Sounds like you are looking for a "resort" type campground? They are certainly around, you just have to keep looking. And... they are usually substantially more expensive to stay at. In Connecticut, you could try Odetah campground in Bozrah. When we were there a few years ago the "diner" down by the lake would be switched to a "club" at night with a live band and bar for adults (I don't know if they still do that). Up in the Lake George area, years ago we had fun at Lake George Evergreen Resort (which is different than Lake George Resort), which had a bar and lots of activities.

Keep looking and asking... even after 10 years of "RV camping", I'm still finding new campgrounds even in my own state!

Most places are family oriented, so they don't have a bar. People truck their beer and booze in with them so that they can enjoy the outdoors.

I posted this in your other thread with the same topic:

You and your family are the perfect candidates for Bethpage Camp Resort in Urbanna, VA . It has everything you want, including a water, park, golf carts galore, lawn mower races, parades. You name it, they have it. I know this place will be perfect for you.

I go to Lake George RV Park every year. It is a great place, but not what you're looking for. Trust me on this one.

Our teenage grandson travels with us every summer and I always ask him where he thinks we should go before making reservations. We talk it over with his grandmother (and my boss) then choose places we all like.

Check out Woodstream Campsite in Gainesville (Wyoming County). Very middle of the road. Great stream for tubing (kids and adults) and a nice relaxing place.

If you haven't been there and want to know which sites are good, shoot me a PM. I have a seasonal site there this year and love it.

I guess we go to the wrong places, LOL Where we camp we make our own activities that pretty much include all ages being together. Hiking, fishing, board games, bird watching....just hanging out together and sharing stories. It is amazing what our older friends learn from our very much younger ones and reversed.

Lake George RV Resort in NY fits your description. Normandy Farms in Foxboro, MA also has an adult lounge and plenty of activities for teens.
See you on the road!

Check out "Baileys" Old Orchard beach Maine. They seem to do a good job at having separate activates for teen and separate for adults. They have bands come just for the kids. at the same time things going on for adults.
