We used to use Sun Lake in Ruskin annually when visiting my Mom in Sun City Center. Have not been there since 2010 when we stayed for four months. Not in a great looking neighborhood, but quiet and convenient.

You can't stay here for months but maybe at the beginning or end of your trip make a plan to stay a few days at Ft. Desoto. You won't regret it.

I think the limit for Fort DeSoto is 14 days, but agree that it is well worth the effort to include a stop there. Check the park map, and try to get a site where the water view isn't blocked by the mangroves, but even those are pretty good.

Look into Roberts RV Park on Gandy Blvd. We stayed there for four months after our house sold and prior to moving to ARKUSA.

We just spent a month at Hide A Way In Ruskin large wide sites and tons of activities for you to do very very friendly people and staff - at $ 710 a month it was a steal Recommend a site in the 500 numbers about all transient in that area

We checked out Sun Lake - not for me

You might check Quail Run RV Park in Wesley Chapel...not the cheapest place, but it is pretty well maintained. It does tend to fill up early, so if you are interested in this campground, you want to reserve early. Their website has all the pertinent info.

We spent 2 weeks at Sun Lake RV Park in Ruskin. It's the closest to Sun City Center and is next to the 75 but you don't hear the road noise. When we first checked in we weren't impressed as the park needs some work. But we got to know the other campers who were there for the winter and they had a real love for the place. The place grew on us and we'd camp there again.
