I saw where there is a new RV park in South Pittsburg TN. Anyone know what it is? I can't find it again. Thanks if you can help out here.

Seeing this was resurrected I will post what we did. The National Corn Bread Festival is worth going to at least once in your life. We really enjoyed the festival and the corn bread competition but the tasting was the best part. It is sponsored by Lodge Cast Iron and they open the foundry for tours which was interesting to see the production process.

We ended up staying at the Chattanooga North KOA in Cleveland TN and we found that to be top notch. An unexpectedly nice campground and we thoroughly enjoyed our weeks stay there. I would use it again and can recommend it.

Sasquatch Farms is not full hookup yet and I NEED a full hookup because of the wife, She refuses to use the CG facilities so I have to be able to empty the tanks quite frequently. When Sasquatch Farm finally gets their septic system up and running I will look into staying there.

Most folks who aren't local (I was local) drive in from a bit out...

Also in the area (in addition to those mentioned above):
Marion County Park https://www.facebook.com/marioncountypark/
Hales Bar & Marina has a campground https://halesbarmarina.com
Camp Chet (in the "Pocket" on top of Whitwell Mtn) https://www.campchet.com/OutpostRV

A bit of a drive will be:
Fall Creek Falls SP https://www.tnstateparks.com/parks/fall-creek-falls
South Cumberland SP (small RVs, no hookups and no gasoline generators allowed, LOTS of shade, really better suited for a truck camper than an RV) https://tnstateparks.com/parks/campground/south-cumberland
Harrison Bay SP (east side of Chatt) https://www.tnstateparks.com/parks/harrison-bay
Chester Frost County Park (2 day minimum stay) https://parks.hamiltontn.gov/facilities/facility/details/chesterfrostpark-1
Tim's Ford SP (50 amp RVs are better off at the Fairview cg) https://www.tnstateparks.com/parks/tims-ford
Old Stone Fort SP https://tnstateparks.com/parks/old-stone-fort

Yep, that's it. They are just putting in the septic system I see too. I was looking into going to the National Corn Bread Festival and doing the Lodge Factory tour and enjoying all the good eats they have. Nowhere to stay close by that has full hookups. Looks like Racoon Mountain is the closest. Who knows what gas prices will be though by the end of April.

I hear you.

The National Corn Bread Festival is one I've not heard of. Sounds good.
Have you thought about looking just over the state line in Alabama? South Pittsburg sits right on that line.

According to the Allstays Map, there's a place that gets good reviews just outside the city limits called Shellmound TVA Campground. It's listed in Jasper. They have a FB page.

Due to an uncompromising wife I need a full hookup. As much as I plead with her to use a little less toilet paper I can't win that battle. I have been occupied battling clogs when emptying the black tank for longer than I have cared to be and have let my displeasure be known many times. Not only that she refuses to use any campground facility. That means I empty the grey tank like every 2 to 3 days....she uses lots of water. No way could I make a tank last to do without a full hookup...and I am not going to die on that hill in that battle. lol. I've stayed at Racoon Mountain before and it is OK. It also has a cavern you can go through. It's not deluxe but it is safe and secure and adequate.

Would you settle for just W&E? Or does it have to be FHU?

Interesting place. Looks like they are just now developing the place. The one thought that strikes me is the fact that the bathrooms are in trailers. Usually they're housed in permanent concrete structures and serve double duty as storm shelters during tornado outbreaks. That area gets tornados frequently enough I would be hesitant to camp there.

Looking at their map they do list a "future" bathhouse in the plans.
