Talladega infield camping

We're heading to Talladega in a few weeks for the NASCAR race, we'll be camping on the infield Geico grounds red. I was just wondering if anyone has been there before and might be able to pass on anything I should know before getting there? We've camped several NASCAR tracks but only on the infield once at Watkins Glen where we could come and go as we wanted.

Never camped talledega but my best advice for camping at races is really watch where you walk/drive. Most people dont pay attention and alot of people are drinking pretty hard

Infield camping is a massive party where there are no strangers! For me personally i liked just kicking back in my chair enjoy the randomness of it all

Was there for the spring race. Definitely a party crowd. Lots of fun. Make friends with your neighbors. one had a commercial smoker, I ate good lol. No hook ups but honey dipper comes around along with ice delivery. Hit the showers early to avoid line. Must see Talladega boulevard after 10pm (not children approved) definitely a freak show. We camped in third turn don't remember color of section but was close to everything.

We normally stay outside the track in the free campgrounds. In the infield you will be very close to your neighbor and be prepared for a lot of noise all weekend long, even during the night. You will be close to the infield bar area and the concert on Saturday night. If this is your thing then you are in for a fantastic time.

Bring your party attitude! If you don't like noise, you will be in the wrong place.

Cameras are necessary to record the "sights".

Don't expect any warm water in the showers!

Other than that, it is a blast.

I will be working (volunteering) at Dega again this October. Wednesday and Thursday I will be working Front Runner II making sure the big guys park on the gravel. Not always easy to do since some want to move over a bit to gain some room.

Friday, Sat, and Sunday I will be driving an ADA golf cart around transporting folks.

Welcome to my back yard. I live four miles south of the track and that's as close as I want to get. I don't have info on infield camping but make sure you get all of your supplies prior to arrival. Nearest Walmart and grovery is Talladega around 12 miles away. Be prepared for that cool night and it's the start of our rainy season.

Have fun and be safe

Hi we went to the race last spring, and found a C/G about 1/2 mi from the track, called (Tallegdega-Taz) not really much of a C/G, but privately owned, had Full hook-ups, nice owner, even had shuttle service to the track ($5.00 each way). as well as reasonably priced. It was nice not to have to fight all the traffic, to and from the track. They had plenty of room, We will stay there again when we go back in 2 years. Good Luck and Happy Camping
