Time to start thinking about the migration south. This year we will leave the small traveling 5'th wheel north, and just drive down to our larger 5'ver. With a new baby coming into the family we won't be able to leave till late. Pulling a rig in snow country isn't my idea of a good time.

This might also be the snowbird year we try to fly to Hawaii for a month. Been talking about it now for awhile, just never did the research to figure it all out and the costs. If it does work out, we might give up RV'ing and move on to the next chapter.

How 'bout you?

If it wasn't for family and friends, that would be my choice. The problem with being a snowbird is you're trapped below I10 for far too long. Sunbirds can enjoy so much more scenery during their 6 month travel season.

It has to be the last gasp of summer.
The last few days were sure nice.

Agreed, sometimes simple is good.

That is hearsay.

Winter is not coming yet, I have many more trips to take in the NW this season.

If you're thinking about the same thing I will tell you it feels like we're always packing and unpacking. That is the downside to what we currently have going on. With the MH you packed it once and took off for the winter.

I have considered a parked or stored fiver in AZ, and then maybe a big B, or a small B+, for touring. I'd probably try to leave a car with the fiver too.

Up here we can tell Summer's almost over when the hummingbirds start to disappear. It's happening now. Best Summer in years, soon time to hit the road so it's bad news, good news.

Same here. I love those hummers but they are about to head south. Still had some around here yesterday but soon after Labor Day, they're gone.

Flying down to San Antonio, middle of this month, but not for "fun". Another year before we can make the migration with everyone else. 😞

I like your two fiver idea. But, do you normally tow the small one on the ways down and back?

That is the plan. We use to have a MH which we used all winter for about 4-5 years. Took 3-6 weeks down and the same amount back. Sold the MH and bought an older 5'ver to leave south a couple of years ago. We then just drove down and back that first season.

I missed the freedom we had with the MH so we then picked up the small traveling 5'ver and are back to doing the 3-6 weeks on the road thing. Would do it again this year but with the new baby coming late in the year I don't want to chance snow or even race down. For me being on the road is the best part.

We're already heading south. Spending this month in California wine country getting our 'supply' for the winter.
