Things that I will miss

I am squeezing out a quick visit to the RGV and am thinking of things I will miss a lot.
Was at Lone Star BBQ in Mission today. Same great food. With the big sales they have, you would think they could retire that tired, almost unreadable sign.

The Texas Roadhouse is probably the only place you can order an item from the menu called "Road Kill" and get an excellent meal.

Got a chance to pig out at Mr. Gauti's Pizza. Don't know how they do it for that low a price.

Yup, not in the best part of town, but I'm starting to think all the good BBQ joints never are.

Well Kansas and Missouri are known for some great BBQ and it doesn't surprise me to hear Texas BBQ is looked at a little different if you're from the show me state.

Coming from boarder country I thought all southern BBQ was delicious. After a few years though you can start to tell if the brisket is overcooked, the ribs were boiled first, and.... well it's hard to screw up pulled pork unless it's dry.

Best BBQ IMO is on the way to the RGV in Victoria, TX.

I remember trying this place once, but we weren't impressed. Perhaps we were there on an off day for BBQ.
