Yes -- you need to bring your own portable grill. But if it's unusually dry there might be a ban on fires. That happened to us in a COE CG in South Florida several times, but we've never encountered that at Topsail.

Yeah Wahoo that wasn't the part of the trip I was thinking. I recall that it terminated above the beach. I was looking for the info from the end of that boardwalk down to the beach. Asked and answered. Google Earth is my friend but it sucks for depth questions. 🙂

Take a look at the park on Google Maps or Google Earth. You'll see a nice long ramp across the dunes to the beach.

Wasn't sure if it would be possible, even if allowed. Looking at the other St. Parks in the panhandle, none say its allowed. Bummer, with 3.5 miles of beach, it'd be a chore to get to the west half of the beach with fishing gear.


Despite that, we are looking forward to our first trip there in August.

Most people stay close to the board walk so you don't have to go very far to get away from people. Tow your fishing cart down to the board walk. Then walk the cart down the boardwalk to the beach. Once you get to the sand you don't have to go to far to get away from people. I have always had a blast surf fishing there. Spanish, blues , skipjacks, spec trout, and more!

Most people tow their carts down to the beach then park their bikes in the bike racks. I dont think they allow bikes on the boardwalk to the beach.
