No filters just filling a jerry can and thought it would be easier than trying to get the water in the can with the thief and short hose. Thanks for the replies.
The water thief will expand like a balloon if you have water filters that are restricting the flow. A cheap filter actually works better because it allows more water to flow through. I have evolved to several home made hoses with hose clamps that will fit most of the pressurized water sources at NF and NP CG's.
We have used a water thief with a pump with one person (me) holding the water thief onto the spout while DW pumps the water into a jerry can. Not as elegant as a hose clamp, but it does the job fairly well, if the pump pressure is not too high.

Ok thanks I wasn't sure but looked like it would. Ill let the wife work the pump lol. I will fill water containers in town when I can. I just have a 20 gal fresh water tank on the trailer, just 2 of us we can get a few days out of it. We do it all the time at the deer lease.
